"Keep wax" (2026-07-18 midday, with cap-5 and streak-realized in the same
breath). The council's KEEP-WAX recommendation is accepted over the watts majority; watts
and lumens are dead as resource names. Wax = transfer of knowledge, learning or sharing — the candle
mechanic carries the shine. Locked in canon: lexicon §THREE ONE-WORD LOCKS ·
RULED_wax-locked-cap5-streak-realized-socialplex-apex_2026-07-18.md. Nothing below is
waiting on you anymore.
Lumens died unanimously — it is the nearest SI neighbor of the word you killed on 2026-07-17, and every voice independently called the ghost: "users will say — oh, so this is the new money-light." It also renders as a number, not a thing.
The Mirror split (reGrok: watts is the unlock; deGrok: all three are vain, the material family was the strongest constraint). Per your standing rule deGrok's lone dissent doesn't count as a vote — but his content is mined below, and it cuts for wax.
Watt = joule per second. The jewel is a joule — stored charge, made by practice. So watts is knowledge flowing: the physically exact partner of the thing you already named. Practice stores; teaching flows. It satisfies "shine light somehow" as energy, and it has no ghost. The knowledge resource is the one that moves between people — maybe it earns being the one unit-word among five materials.
Wax is the only resource that feeds a light rather than being one — and it cannot shine alone. It needs a wick, and the wick is spun from thread, and thread is minted by socializing. So the mechanic already says it: knowledge only shines when it is socialized. Rename it to a unit and the candle — wax + thread, the one two-axis composite in the whole economy — is orphaned. Also: five humble materials and one SI unit reads as a physics lab invading a workshop; a second SI unit beside the jewel-joule invites a third; and the stranger test is brutal — "I earned three watts teaching today" sounds like running an appliance, "some wax" sounds like gathering fuel to share around a fire.
My read: keep wax/oil — your constraint is already satisfied one level down. "It just needs to shine light somehow" — it does: the shine is the candle, and the candle is wax + wick, and the wick is socializing. The light exists exactly when knowledge meets people, which is the whole ethos said as an object. Watts is the honorable alternative (the joule/watt pair is genuinely beautiful physics) — but it trades the workshop's matter for a meter, and the counting-knowledge-per-second frame is the one thing every skeptical voice flinched at.
Whatever you tap: nothing renders a new name anywhere until you lock it — wax/oil stands meanwhile, and the SEMANTIC (transfer of knowledge, learning or sharing) is already ruled and recorded either way.
