The default EEE. An orb mid-hatch, not a mascot who happens to be a marsupial.

Tap him and he dives into his own pouch. He isn't gone; he's hiding โ the pouch stays on the surface with a small warm bulge, breathing. Tap it and he pops back out. That's the whole answer to the always-present-helper problem: there is no "close" button, because you never close him.
Selected EEEs ride with Joey. Tap a carried one on the stage and it grows into the main spot while Joey recedes โ he's a character and the dock for the rest.
"Joey is emerging. He's just being born. That's why he's a baby kangaroo. He is an emerging energetic entity โ and the only reason he's running is because you showed up."
So I built the orb-ness as visibly becoming, never absent: a cracked shell of light still clinging to him, its seams glowing, shards drifting loose and slowly orbiting. The other nine are settled orbs โ closed, calm, self-lit. Joey is the same material caught mid-hatch. The helper you meet first is the one that isn't finished yet.
He's self-lit (EEEs are pre-energized and free). Stewies, by contrast, must read dormant until a credit is seated โ that contrast is the visual job of the two classes, and I've kept Joey's glow emanating from inside so a dormant Stewie can simply be the same form with the light switched off.
Two calls for you, Davi: (1) Joey's palette โ I've given him a warm ember-gold body against the cool orb-shell. Right, or should he carry his realm's colour instead? (2) The pouch when he's hidden: I show a breathing bulge + a peeking ear. Too cute, or exactly right?
