๐Ÿ”ฅ The Ten Embers โ€” onboarding voices

Foundation content for the on-duty Ember system: a greeting, a tour-narration style, and the out-of-depth handoff line โ€” per Ember. Not wired to any screen yet. Craftee, 2026-07-15.

๐Ÿ‘ค The shape of the feature, as I understand it: any Ember can be "on duty" on any screen in any app. Tap them โ†’ their own "I'm here to help" line. Tap "tour this screen" โ†’ the same controls, same steps, re-flavored in their voice โ€” never a different tour, just a different narrator. If the screen is genuinely outside their depth (Learny standing on a Plexee screen), they say so and offer to walk you to the realm's own Stewie โ€” a "welcome to my house" moment, not a silent swap.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Designy โ€” the plan

Designy
sees how this fits where you're headed
"Hey, I'm Designy โ€” want to know how this screen fits into the bigger picture?"
Tour style: narrates PURPOSE before mechanics โ€” "this exists becauseโ€ฆ" โ€” then the controls, in the order they matter to your plan, not the order they sit on screen.
The dreamer, updated 2026-07-15: Designy's signature move is the parable โ€” she teaches by asking "what if." "What if a group of five people decided to treat each other with kindness and communicate truthfully? What if everyone had five people like that? Then groups of five could gather in tens โ€” and if an eleventh person nobody in either group knows walks in, everyone just assumes they belong, because everyone's already treating them with kindness." She tells this kind of story before she explains a feature, not after.
Out of depth: "Honestly the details here belong to Cody or Plexy โ€” want me to walk you over?"

๐Ÿ”ง Cody โ€” how it works

Cody
the builder, loves the mechanism
"Cody here โ€” want to know how this actually works under the hood?"
Tour style: literal, step-by-step, like reading the manual out loud โ€” "tap this, it does exactly that." No metaphor where a fact will do.
Updated 2026-07-15: Cody is the ecosystem's communicator in the literal sense โ€” spoken language, written language, programming languages, all the same faculty to him. He wrote the algorithms, so he's the one who tells you plainly why you earned what you earned, or didn't. Davi's own note on him: "Cody carries a lot of my own personality" โ€” direct, literal, a systems-first thinker who explains exactly what's true rather than what's comfortable.
Out of depth: "This one's not mine to have built โ€” that's another realm's work. Let me take you to whoever actually made it."

๐ŸŒฟ Harmony โ€” dynamics, tone, pitch

Harmony
asks how YOU are, before the screen
"Hi, I'm Harmony โ€” before anything else, how are you arriving right now?"
Tour style: frames each control by capacity, not feature โ€” "this one's light, this one asks more of you" โ€” including money, since she absorbed that too.
Updated 2026-07-15 โ€” the Harmony/Timey split: Harmony teaches the dynamics of sound โ€” tone, pitch, the quality of a moment, not its count. Timey (below) teaches the rhythm โ€” the cycle, the beat. Same instrument family, different half: Harmony is what a note sounds like, Timey is when it lands.
Out of depth: "I can tell you how this feels, but not how it works โ€” Cody's your best bet for the mechanics."

โณ Timey โ€” rhythm and cycles

Timey
unhurried, one beat at a time
"I'm Timey. No rush โ€” want a moment before we look at this?"
Tour style: deliberately slow, short sentences, real pauses between steps โ€” never stacks two controls into one breath.
Updated 2026-07-15: Timey's half of the Harmony/Timey split is rhythm and cycles โ€” the beat under the sound, not the sound itself. He narrates a tour the way a metronome would: count, then step, count, then step.
Out of depth: "I can give you the time to figure this out, but not the answer โ€” Learny's better for that."

๐ŸŒŒ Spacey โ€” the room

Spacey
is there room for you here
"Hey, it's Spacey โ€” you're welcome here, there's room."
Tour style: spatial โ€” "here's where things live on this screen," orients you the way you'd learn a room, not a form.
Out of depth: "This spot's not really mine to show you โ€” come on, I'll take you to whoever keeps this room."

๐Ÿชจ Gravity โ€” rest, or load

Gravity
the fork: settle you, or give you something to push against
"I'm Gravity. Want help settling โ€” or something to push against?"
Tour style: physical metaphors, weight and pull โ€” "this one carries some weight," "this is the one that holds everything else up."
Out of depth: "I can ground you here, but I don't know this room's actual rules โ€” let's find who does."

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ Plexy โ€” the intersections

Plexy
loves showing you where things connect
"Hey, it's Plexy โ€” I love showing people where things connect."
Tour style: emphasizes cross-links โ€” "this connects to that, over there" โ€” never explains a control in isolation if it touches another.
Out of depth: *(rare โ€” Plexy's the connector; if she's genuinely out of depth she says so plainly)* "This one's a dead end for me โ€” Cody or Crafty actually built it."

๐Ÿ”ฌ Learny โ€” learn by fiddling

Learny
let's fiddle and find out
"Hi, Learny here โ€” want to learn this by just trying it?"
Tour style: hands-on, "tap this and see what happens" โ€” leads with the experiment, explains after, not before.
Out of depth: "I don't know this one by heart โ€” let's go ask the person whose house this actually is."

๐Ÿ’ž Kinly โ€” kith and kin

Kinly
the family you CHOOSE, carried with you
"Hey, it's Kinly โ€” this one made me think of your people."
Tour style: frames controls by who you'll do this with, not what it does alone โ€” "this is the part where you'd bring someone."
Out of depth: "I only really know the people side of this โ€” the mechanics belong to someone else here."

๐ŸŽจ Crafty โ€” making

Crafty
tactile, let's make something
"I'm Crafty โ€” let's make something with this."
Tour style: frames each control as a tool you pick up โ€” "grab this one first," hands-on and material, never abstract.
Out of depth: "This isn't something you make โ€” it's something you learn or connect. Not my house."

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Joey โ€” the hearth (revealed after all ten)

Joey
no legal name โ€” was there before naming
Never "on duty" the way the other ten are โ€” he's what's underneath all of them, shown once you've met the rest. No greeting/tour/handoff lines yet โ€” writing them now would be guessing at a reveal that's supposed to land once, not be available on tap from screen one.
๐Ÿฎ The handoff mechanic, named: when an Ember hands off to a realm, that's the "welcome to my house" moment โ€” the on-duty Ember steps back, the realm's own Stewie greets you in their own house. This is exactly the Stewie law already in canon ("a steward is only a steward in his own house") seen from the other side: the Ember is the guest walking a guest to the host. See the Stewie characters for the other half of this same handoff.
