Ten Embers · every Stewie · the two kinds of realm — Designee for Davi · last updated 2026-07-13 15:05 WEDT

"The characters define the whole ecosystem infrastructure." — so this page is the roadmap. Ruled today is marked green. Proposed by me is marked amber. Nothing amber is canon.
It breaks a rule — unless there are TWO KINDS OF REALM.
The law says a lux animates a realm's Stewie, and a Stewie is the one who never travels. But an Ember always travels — that's what an Ember is. So if Sciency owns a realm, what does a lux animate when you walk in? Sciency isn't there. Sciency is with you.
My answer — and I think it's the one that was always implied:
The ten Ember realms are ALWAYS OPEN. They take no lux at all.
You never pay to practise. You carry your Embers in with you; they are the light in there. Lux exist only to wake the Stewies of the SOCIAL realms — the places where you gather with other people. Which is exactly what you already said: "all basic social realms cost one lux."
And look what it does to the lapse hole — it seals it at the foundation, not with a patch:
That is why practice can re-light a lux: because the practice realm was never the thing that went dark. Money buys the social breadth. It has never been able to buy the practice, and now it structurally cannot.
So the ecosystem has exactly two shapes of door:
| EMBER REALM ×10 | STEWIE REALM (all the rest) | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens there | You practise. Alone, with your companion. | You gather. With other people. |
| Who keeps it | Nobody — you bring the keeper with you | A Stewie, who never leaves |
| Costs a lux? | NO. Always open. | YES — one lux wakes the Stewie. |
| You earn | clay (practice) → tiles (accomplishment) | mortar (service & witnessing) · coins |
| If you stop paying | Nothing. It stays open. | It goes dim — until practice re-lights it |
Note what this makes true: you cannot buy your way out of practice, and you cannot be locked out of it either.
Ruled: "Errant" is retired. Users may choose to see the -Y spelling or the -EE spelling — a display toggle, both are correct. Every Ember has a realm, an app, and a practice library.
| # | -Y | -EE | Teaches |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cody | Codee | Go there. Observe. Take notes. Ask people. Check the story. |
| 2 | Designee | Designee | Work out what you're doing with your life. Make a real plan. Follow it. |
| 3 | Crafty | Craftee | Make something. Make something for someone — that's the full practice. |
| 4 | Plexee | Plexee | Inner work. IFS. The plumbing, the diet, the digestive fire. She lives in your gut. |
| 5 | Sciency | Sciencee | Go learn something true. Shapes, heat, pressure, how gravity bends spacetime. |
| # | -Y | -EE | Teaches |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | Timey | Timee | Cycles, tides, sunrise. The 15-minutes-early doctrine. Verified by humans, never self-reported. |
| 7 | Spacey | Spacee | Master of matter. Range of motion. "Let's make some space" — clear the furniture and move. |
| 8 | Gravity | Gravitee | Get strong. Resistance, mass, conditioning. Is possibly a kettlebell. |
| 9 | Harmony | Harmonee | Music, sound, waves — and social grace. When you're with Sciency, he'll very likely bring in Harmony. |
Slot 10 — still open. You rejected Kithy and Breathy. Here is a fresh slate.
The morphology is now obvious and I should have seen it earlier: Gravity. Harmony. These are real English abstract nouns ending in -Y. The tenth should be too.
| -Y / -EE | Holds | The case |
|---|---|---|
| Empathy Empathee | Feeling another person accurately. Co-regulation, repair, receiving. | Morphologically perfect — Gravity, Harmony, Empathy. On the nose, which is a strength for a 12-year-old and a weakness for a poet. |
| Amity Amitee | Friendship. Concord. Being easy with another person. | The beautiful one. Rare, warm, un-therapised. Sits perfectly beside Gravity and Harmony in sound. Costs you a word most people must look up once. |
| Levity Levitee | Play. Spontaneity. Lightness as a discipline. | The dark horse — and it is a gift. Levity is the literal physical opposite of Gravity. Gravity pulls you down and makes you strong; Levity lifts you and makes you playable. A ten-ember set that ends on that pair is a set that rhymes. But it does not fill the relational hole. |
My read: the relational hole is real and Harmony only half-covers it (she has social grace, not co-regulation and repair). I'd take Amity, and hold Levity as the strongest candidate you have if an eleventh domain ever opens.
Joey — still awaiting your word. My read stands: he is the eleventh, not one of the ten. Never goes out. Lights the room you're standing in. Animates whatever else is animated. And he has no legal -ee name, because he was there before there was naming.
Ruled today: the app helpers are the Stewies. Every realm gets one designated -EE character. The human-named cast is defunct. Each Stewie is a plushy letter.
RETIRED — do not render these again anywhere:
Priya · Dani / Daniela · Keiko · J.D. · HumbleTumble ·
Conrad & Connie · Axel & Wren · Seymour · Jasper · Red ·
C.B. · Raya · Sir Pounce-a-Lot
Jasper is the notable casualty — he was JamSpace's first-contact guide and is referenced in shipped code. Jammy replaces him. Cody sessions will need a sweep.

⚠️ THE LETTER PROBLEM — you will hit this immediately, so hit it deliberately.
The alphabet has 26 letters. We already have ~22 realms and the ten Ember realms on top. And the collisions are not at the edges — they are at the centre:
T — Tessa, Tussle, TuningPad, ThroughWard, TessaCraft · R — RePrana, ReTantra, ReleaseMe, ReDancer, Dynamic Replay · P — Playably, Pluriplex · D — ReDancer, ReDojo, DayIni
Three ways out, pick one before anyone models a plushy:
coin in → key out
You arrive at the event and give them your coin. They hand you a new key. You fill that key during the event:
And that filled key is your token for the next event.
The economy is not a ladder. It is a cycle — and the event is the forge. The only way to keep going is to keep showing up, and the only way to keep showing up is to keep serving. There is no position from which you can coast, and no amount of money that generates the next key.
The pricing ruling — and the law hiding inside it.
No price shown until after the pledge. Then: "The requested amount per person for this event works out to about €X. Please pay what you can. Suggested €10 — if you can afford more, please do; it helps the event run when some people can't pay the full amount."
You said you don't mind if people can work out who the whale is. But you gave the real safeguard, and it's an engineering law, not a social one:
Nothing may ever change in response to one person's momentary behaviour.
The system calculates only at predetermined moments of calculation. Bob clicks attend and nothing turns green. That single rule kills the deduction attack at the root — not by hiding Bob, but by severing the causal link the room would need in order to read him. It is a much better answer than the one the council gave.
Attendance — you overruled us, and you were right. Show the attendee count. Show which ones made name and photo visible. The rest are mysteries, and the mystery is disclosed as a mystery.
"A person deserves to know they're going into a space where at least one person is a complete mystery to them." Some people find that unbearable, and they get to decide before they walk in. The count is a safety disclosure, not a leak.
Designee · 2026-07-13 · Amber = my proposal, not canon. Green = ruled by Davi today.
